Podcasts

Since the podcast started in 2010, our monthly editions have looked back at a series of matches. We like to reflect and look at a developing stories that develop over a few games, not pick every game to pieces.

The From the Rookery End podcasts are the hub of this site; all our previous podcasts are available here.

7.5 – No Friend of Mine

WATFORD 1-3 ARSENAL Jon, Mike and Jordi look back at the battle with our nearest neighbours, the first half mistakes and the positive reaction in the 2nd half. The decorum of the ref, the 5 debutants plus a final (and we believe it will be the final) goodbye to Matty Vydra.

7.4 – Capoue the Goal Machine

WATFORD 1-2 CHELSEA With Mike away topping up his tan in Greece, Jon and Jason are joined by Jordi to react to the home loss against Chelsea. They talk about the rise of Etienne Capoue “Goal Scorer”, how the final 25 man squad is shaping up, and who might lose out after the signing of […]

7.3 – Point Made

The first proper podcast of the season, recorded the night after Watford 1-1, hard fought away draw at Southampton. Thanks to your response on Twitter we discuss the inclusion of Vydra, Walter’s lack on speaking English, we chat to Golden Pages editor about the up coming 8th edition, the rumoured transfers (both in and out) and we hear the first edition of our new feature: Michael Parkin’s-son!

How good have the Pozzo’s been in the transfer market?

So, aside from being a nice bright Watford coloured graph, what does the above actually tell us. Let’s start at the beginning. It seems that this is the most successful season when you look at the big swathe of yellow on the left hand side. What really happened that season with those signings and how did it change […]

7.2 – Cause breaking up is hard to do

There have been some tears over the last few days with the exit of Almen Abdi, and to some extent Steven Berghuis, so Jon, Jason and Mike talk about the preseason match against QPR and the impact these players had, and might of had, on the Watford team this season.

7.1 – 7th Heaven

Welcome to the seventh season of From the Rookery End! As ever, it’s an exciting time to be a Watford supporter and we’re looking forward to bringing you a fans-eye view as the first year under Walter Mazzarri unfolds.

6.24 – Top 10 of 2015-2016

For our final podcast of this season we countdown out Top 10 of the 2015-16 season. And as QSF leaves, little Florence has written a special letter to him.

6.23 – This Charming Man

The Semi Final fog has cleared to reveal another huge potential story, so we convened to discuss the revelations surrounding the future of Quique Sanchez Flores.

6.22 – Three Header Monster

So we went to Wembley… well the fans did, still not quite sure the players turned up! So this podcast is a series of conversations through out the day.

6.21 – Heurelho’s Howthorns Heroics

There’s no getting away from it, it’s Wembley week and we’re excited. You’ll probably be able to tell… Anyway, if you can get past our childlike enthusiasm, you’ll hear us talk Heurelho’s heroics, feel a bit sorry for West Ham and share our largely dismal memories of Watford’s past Semi Final appearances. Oh, and we kidnap a Palace fan. Obviously.
